Snapshots of Bracknell and Surrounding Areas

Bracknell, Berkshire, a small town where I live. Every day I see sights that make me think, 'that would make a good photo', so I've decided to carry a camera around with me, and if I see something that appeals, I'll take a photo of it, a snapshot. I'm not a photographer, and I'm not using a very expensive camera, but I thought I'd share pictures of the place I live, the good, the bad and the ugly. I hope you enjoy the photo's I take.

Lily Hill Park

Lily Hill Park is a Green Flag Award winning 23-hectare public open space, located to the north east of Bracknell and less than a mile from the town centre.

A beautiful, tranquil park, popular with dog walkers.

Binfield Public Footpath

Rambled down this Public Footpath in Binfield yesterday, probably the most slim footpath I've ever walked along, more like a rural alley-way.

Pope's Meadow

Once part of the grounds of Pope’s Manor, this small 13.7 acres of established parkland located in Binfield is a valuable countryside resource for quiet informal recreation for the local community and provides a haven for wildlife.

Not very big, but nice and quiet, a great place to take your dog, and let it have a run around.

Welcome To Bracknell

Bracknell welcomes careful drivers... Yep, they'd have to go careful with the amount of roundabouts in Bracknell.

Sandy Lane Squirrel

Walking past Sandy Lane school, heard a rustling of leaves, spotted this squirrel, who was kind enough to remain still whilst I took it's photo.

Edmunds Green

Bracknell has such a diverse collection of buildings, both old and new, good, bad, and down right ugly.

I spotted this lovely old house next to Edmunds Green, with this wooden animal opposite. I'm not quite sure if the owners of the house placed this animal, or it was placed by Bracknell Forest Borough Council.

Walkway Between Waitrose and The High Street

The Bull, Bracknell

A beautiful old pub, I hope it is given some serious love when the regeneration of Bracknell is complete. Hopefully it will once again become a decent pub/restaurant, and not sold off to turn in to an estate agent. or mobile phone shop.

Regeneration photo's taken in May

It's been a long time since I added to this Blog, for one reason and another, but I intend to keep my promise and carry a camera with me at all times, photographing life in, and around Bracknell.

The following photo's were taken in May, with the regeneration of Bracknell in full swing, and most of the shops demolished to make way for the new shopping centre.

It's not a pretty sight at the moment, but it will get better.
